Michael BoettcherThe International Gaming Awards highest honour, the Outstanding Contribution Award, will be given to an individual for their truly outstanding contribution to the gaming Iindustry. Who will be the 2009 winner?

Last year's recipient - a well known name to the International industry - Mr Michael Boettcher (President of Storm International BV), the face and the pioneer of the Russian Gaming and the creator of the Responsible Gaming Fund in Russia.

Cammegh will be donating a speciality bespoke Roulette Wheel. An exciting and stunning creation inlayed with Swarovski crystals to add dramatic splendour in any VIP room. Proceeds will go to our supported charities.

Groupe Partouche bagged the winning bid at the 2008 International Gaming Awards ceremony for the Ralph Steadman Kentucky Derby painting, raising £4600 for our supported Care International Charity.

Money raised will go directly to our supported charities. More exciting auction items to appear in our next news letter.

The International Gaming Awards will be hosting the book release of Evgeny Kovtun. The Responsible Gaming Fund and Storm International are announcing the first English edition of Evgeny Kovtun's book "Legal Regulation of Gaming Business in the Former Soviet Countries".

The book gives full and comprehensive analysis of the legal regulation of gambling activity in the countries of the former USSR (Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan). The author investigates in detail the history of the legal regulation of gambling activity in the Soviet Union and analyzes the modern legislation.
The publication is recommended for employees of all levels of legislative authorities, employees of state institutions, teachers, post-graduate students and students of law colleges and faculties, representatives of gambling business and also the broad audience of readers.
The book is written on the basis of legislative acts in force in various countries as of June 1, 2008 unless otherwise stated.

A non-profit organization, the "Responsible Gaming" Fund sets as its main mission an activity on developing responsible and socially acceptable attitude to gambling, as well as work on reducing social and other risks associated with gambling. Storm International has developed a Responsible Gaming Programme which attends to the needs of gambling addiction. An independent help centre
has been financed and, together with the help of the internationally accepted company GamCare, based in the UK, and the Russian entity NAN, is now prominently advertised in all the holding company's properties and provides literature to help both the addicted and their families.

 About the author: Evgeny Vyacheslavovich Kovtun

The author graduated from the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MSU RE) and All-Russia State Tax Academy (ARSTA), defended with honors the graduation research paper entitled "Legal regulation of gambling business in the Russian Federation." Evgeny Kovtun is a well-known publicist in the field of the legal regulation of gambling business, the author and a co-author of many books devoted to the history of gambling business and its legislative regulation.

His latest books "Gambling Business in Russia: Legislative Regulation," "Legal Regulation of Gambling Business in Foreign Countries" (together with Sergey Kovalev) and "Legal regulation of Gambling Business in Ukraine and in neighboring states" (in Russian and Ukrainian) gained recognition not only in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Belarus, but also in some foreign countries. Evgeny Kovtun's articles about legal regulation of gambling business are translated into many languages of the world, including English, Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Armenian, Georgian and Lithuanian.


CHANGE OF CATEGORIES

"Best Casino" category has been changed to "Eco-Friendly Company" at the request of some companies who hugly contribute to environmental issues.
